Steve Case

Ken Burns
We welcome our favorite documentarian back to The National Defense, Ken Burns. We chat about his newly released documentary, “The US and the Holocaust” which is now available on the PBS Documentaries Video Channel on Amazon as well as PBS Passport. Randy and Ken discuss the background story, and the hard truths that Americans have had to face given how the U.S. initially reacted to the rise of the Third Reich.
Michael Learned
We welcome one of the stars of the hit NetFlix program, “Dahmer -Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” to the program, actress Michael Learned. Randy and Michael talk about her role in this disturbing story, her Emmy-winning 50+ year career and of course, her role as Olivia Walton on “The Waltons.”
Dale Jenkins
We welcome author Dale A. Jenkins to discuss his new book release “Diplomats and Admirals: From Failed Negotiations and Tragic Misjudgments To Powerful Leaders and Heroic Deeds, The Untold Story of the U.S. Navy’s Victories at the Coral Sea and Midway.” Randy and Dale discuss the events of late December 1941, and how the failed diplomatic efforts and negotiations led to an unnecessary battle in the Pacific.
Michael Berryman
We welcome a horror film and sci-fi legend to the show, actor Michael Berryman. Randy and Michael chat about how he got his start in the acting industry, the projects he still continues to work on, and his wishes for all active duty service members listening to his segment.
Yogi Roth
We welcome Yogi Roth to the show. Yogi is a host and college football analyst for ESPN, Fox and the Pac-12 Network, as well as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight. We talk about his new book, “5-STAR QB: It’s not about the stars, It’s about the Journey”. Randy and Yogi chat about a few stories from the book as well as the inspiration they had to reach out to quarterbacks from all over the country to compile this interesting, multi-faceted book.
Michael Fanone
We welcome Michael Fanone to the program to talk about his recollection and reflection on the attack on the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. Randy and Michael discuss the career path that led him to work in Washington, and then the grim details of what transpired, including Michael’s injuries in the insurrectionist attacks. We speak with Michelle Horn, Vice President of Communications for Fisher House to get an update on the incredible benchmark of opening up their 100th Fisher House! Currently, Fisher House has 93 different houses near VA facilities that assist military families with being closer to them while seeking treatment.
Weird Al Yankovic
We welcome a legendary entertainer, Weird Al Yankovic, to the program to talk about the generations of people he has entertained as well as his new feature-length film “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” coming to Roku next month. Randy talks with Al about being portrayed by actor Daniel Radcliffe, and the staggering amount of celebrity cameos you’ll find in this hilarious film. Make sure to check it out!
Gordon Logan
We welcome back a longtime friend of the show and of anyone that has ever worn the uniform of the United States Military, Gordan Logan, to the program. Gordon and Randy discuss some of the great programs that Sports Clips has taken part in including their “Operation Uplink” program and their “Help a Hero” scholarship fund. Sports Clips has raised over $11 Million so far for veterans and we’re so happy to reconnect with one of the original partners of our program.
Jack McBrayer
We welcome one of our favorite comedic actors to the show, Jack McBrayer. The star of NBC’s “30 Rock” and his own Apple TV+ series, “Hello, Jack!” Randy and Jack talk about his career, his work in Chicago’s Second City, and we get a few little knowns facts about Tina Fey.
