Rich Little – Celebrity Salute

On this week’s Celebrity Salute we speak with Sunny Anderson, host of the Food Network’s NFL Tailgate Takedown which she hosts alongside Patriot Hall of Famer Vince Wilfork. Tailgating and camaraderie amongst fans are huge in the National Football League, and Sunny talks about how much fun it has been to travel around to NFL stadiums and see all the regional differences come to life through food. Randy and Sunny also discuss her own military service as well as her father’s service as an Army Ranger as well as learning of her Grandfather’s time storming the beaches of Normandy in this great segment.

We welcome our favorite documentarian to Celebrity Salute, Ken Burns. We chat about his newly released documentary, “The US and the Holocaust”, now available on the PBS Documentaries Video Channel on Amazon as well as PBS Passport. Randy and Ken discuss the background story for this doc, and some of the hard truths that Americans faced after the fact. We welcome Lt. Colonel Dan “Noonan” Rooney to the show to talk about his fantastic educational scholarship program benefiting the children of fallen soldiers: Folds of Honor. Over 14 years, 35,000 scholarships have been awarded, totaling over $160 Million in educational impact. Randy and Dan talk about his motivation, and where the Folds of Honor charity is headed in the future.

Amy Loughren-Celebrity Salute
This episode, we welcome Amy Loughren, a real-life hero and a pivotal character in “The Good Nurse”. The real story of Charles Cullen, a prolific serial killer who possibly killed over a hundred patients in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before finally getting caught in the early 2000s, due in large part to her help. The movie is adapted from the 2013 book called “The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder,” by journalist Charles Graeber. Amy’s story is now getting another look in the new Netflix series “Capturing the Killer Nurse.”
David Bellavia – Celebrity Salute
Celebrity Salute welcomes David Bellavia, a former United States Army soldier who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Second Battle of Fallujah, and the only living recipient of the Medal of Honor from the Iraq War. Bellavia has also received the Bronze Star Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals and the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross. Randy Miller and David talk about his fateful mission, recollections of his military service, and how his transition to civilian life has gone, writing a new book and hosting talk radio in Buffalo, New York.
Dennis Quaid – Celebrity Salute
We welcome the incredible Dennis Quaid to the program to talk about all sorts of topics.
