Cassie is a Ret. U.S.A.F. Major General and she explains to Randy how a meeting of veterans, including herself, came together to form the Hall of Fame, as well as sharing some stories of those already enshrined alongside Missouri native Harry S. Truman
Welcome, Vice President of Warrior Experience for Wounded Warrior Project, Dana Dreckman. She shares with us the results of WWP’s annual survey of our veteran; which this year had over 19k participants! Dana explains how the survey is applied, some recent changes to the program, and the challenges/successes that they are discovering by compiling this massive amount of data.
We welcome actress Roma Downey to the program to discuss her newest movie, “On a Wing and a Prayer.” The film, which features friend of the program Dennis Quaid, follows passenger Doug White’s harrowing journey to safely land a plane and save his entire family from insurmountable danger after their pilot dies unexpectedly mid-flight. The event took place on Easter Sunday, and the inspired film will be released on Amazon Prime Video this Easter Weekend.
Shawna Hill, Veteran Affairs Recreation therapist and vet participant Stephen Holsten join us to talk about 37th annual National Disabled Veterans Sports Clinic. The clinic, presented by the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and Disabled American Veterans is expecting more than 350 disabled veterans from across the United States to gather together for this event.
