We check in with USAA’s Senior VP of Military Affairs, retired Navy Admiral John Byrd. We’ll talk about some of the programs that USAA is supporting to honor the men and women who have died wearing the uniform. Both the Poppy Wall and Poppy Cubes will be stationed around the country, including on the National Mall in Washington D.C.

We welcome back a friend of the program and the Anchor of CBS Evening News, Norah O’Donnell, to the show. Norah discusses the struggle facing military spouses when it comes to transferring occupational licenses and the adverse impact of the government’s red tape on their quality of life and employment opportunities. Every time a servicemember’s assignment changes, military spouses must get a new license in their new home state, leaving many military spouses unemployed for months at a time.

Gary Sinise joins the program once again to talk with Randy about all the great work he’s been doing on and off the set; especially when it comes to supporting members of our Armed Forces, veterans, and their families. Randy and Gary discuss the history of the Gary Sinise Foundation, it’s role in expanding the incredible Snowball Express program at Walt Disney World, and his annual appearance with Joe Mantegna and friends on the National Mall in Washington D.C. for the National Memorial Day Concert airing this coming Memorial Day on PBS.

Terrence Hayes, Press Secretary at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, joins the show to discuss the PACT Act and what veterans need to know. The V.A. is encouraging eligible veterans to get registered with the PACT Act. Closing on August 10th. this legislation is one of the largest expansions of VA health care and benefits in history.

Art and Randy talk about Team Rubicon’s long-running partnership with The Home Depot Foundation, supporting their mission of offering disaster relief while utilizing the unique skillsets of military veterans. Luke Russert
We welcome journalist and author Luke Russert to the program. We talk about his career in journalism, his late father, Tim Russert, and his new book Look For Me There, a travel book detailing his travels to over 60 countries around the world. Randy and Luke talk about how the book was borne out of his travel journals and how Luke discovered something about his father and himself while processing his grief.
Jon Voight
We welcome the legendary Hollywood actor Jon Voight to the show to talk about his long-running career in Hollywood. We chat about his new film, Mercy, in select theatres now, digitally on May 19th, and On Demand in early June. Mercy tells the story of an ex-military doctor that finds herself in a deadly battle for survival when the Irish mafia seizes control of a hospital where she works. The film co-stars Leah Gibson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and we can’t wait to see it.
